Infant and child Feeding
Having a child who won't eat can be incredibly stressful and frightening. Too often, families hear, "They'll eat when they're hungry", "eating is easy and instinctive", or even that their child's problems are behavioural and due to parenting.
At Nourish and Grow, we understand that this is not true.

Feeding is a learned skill, and for some children, it is not easy. We use food as our tool and work closely with you and your child to assess their nutritional intake , adequacy, and growth. We provide guidance on appropriate food swaps or supplements and we evaluate their feeding skills and sensory sensitivities, using the SOS approach.

At Nourish and Grow, we are here to support you with compassion and expertise. You are not alone on this journey—we are dedicated to helping you and your child overcome these challenges and thrive.

Growth and development
When a child is extremely selective with food or relies on tube feeding, ensuring they’re growing and developing well can be a real concern for families. Whether it’s due to sensory challenges, feeding aversion, medical conditions, or long-term enteral feeding, I provide personalised, non-judgemental support that focuses on meeting nutritional needs while working towards positive progress at your child’s pace.
I offer comprehensive one-off nutrition assessments as well as tailored packages that allow for regular monitoring of your child’s growth and nutritional intake.

Nutritional adequacy
Children with feeding difficulties or very limited diets may be at higher risk of nutritional deficiencies — especially if they’re avoiding whole food groups, relying on only a few safe foods, or struggling with mealtimes due to sensory challenges or anxiety.
I provide tailored, evidence-based advice to help identify and fill any nutrient gaps without pressure or overwhelm. Nutritional therapy isn’t about forcing new foods — it’s about making sure your child gets what they need to grow, develop, and feel their best, even if their food repertoire is small.
I’ll work with you to assess their current intake, explore gentle changes, and — where needed — guide you on supplements, fortified options, or simple swaps that support nutritional adequacy.

Feeding
Feeding is about more than just nutrition — it’s also a developmental skill. Some children experience challenges with chewing, swallowing, or accepting different textures, which can lead to difficulties like gagging, choking, or avoiding whole food groups.
These challenges can be stressful and worrying for families, especially when they affect a child’s confidence or nutrition. Through tailored nutritional therapy and collaboration with other professionals where needed, I help support your child’s feeding skills in a way that feels safe.
Together, we’ll work on expanding textures, building tolerance for new foods, and supporting your child’s ability to eat a varied, balanced diet — without pressure or fear.
Feeding Therapy
Feeding therapy can be beneficial for children who are struggling with eating due to sensory, medical, developmental, or behavioural reasons. Whether your child is just beginning to explore food or has had long-term feeding difficulties, I offer a calm, compassionate approach that meets your child where they are and supports your whole family in the process.
-
Children who eat very little or avoid food altogether
-
Children who are not gaining weight as expected
-
Children who have a very limited range of accepted tastes and textures
-
Children who find it difficult to move on to more advanced textures
-
Children who regularly refuse food or meals
-
Children who experience anxiety, distress, or strong behaviours around eating
-
Families dealing with mealtime battles, pressure, or worry
-
Children who are working towards transitioning from tube feeding to oral feeding
How Feeding Therapy Supports Your Child
My approach to feeding therapy is gentle, responsive, and child-led — focused on creating positive experiences with food while ensuring nutritional needs are met.
-
Helping your child build positive, pressure-free experiences with food
-
Establishing a predictable mealtime routine and supporting your child to recognise and respond to hunger and fullness cues
-
Gently reducing anxiety or resistance around touching, tasting, or swallowing food
-
Supporting your child to gradually increase the variety of foods they feel comfortable trying
-
Encouraging improved food intake — in both volume and texture — in a way that feels safe, supported, and sustainable

Nutrition Support
Whether you're concerned about your child not growing as expected, gaining weight too quickly, want to follow a vegetarian or vegan diet, or need a gluten-free approach due to coeliac disease — it can feel overwhelming to know what’s “right,” what’s “enough,” and how to make it work day-to-day.

I work with families who are navigating all kinds of nutritional challenges — from iron deficiency and faltering growth to obesity and restrictive eating. These concerns are often layered with emotion: worry, guilt, confusion, and the pressure to “get it right.”

As a registered dietitian, and a parent too, I offer supportive, practical advice that’s grounded in evidence — but always shaped around your real life. Together, we can make sure your child is getting what they need, in a way that feels manageable and truly supportive.

Growth and Development
We provide comprehensive nutritional assessments to evaluate your child's growth history and nutritional status. Whether your child is growing more slowly than expected or experiencing rapid weight gain, Together, we’ll take a balanced, child-centred approach to nutrition that supports healthy growth without guilt or pressure.

Nutritional deficiencies
I work with families to identify potential nutrient gaps and provide practical, tailored advice to help prevent and treat deficiencies like iron deficiency anaemia, vitamin D, and others. Whether your child has a restricted diet, a medical condition, or you're simply unsure if they’re getting enough — I offer evidence-based support to help you feel confident they’re meeting their needs.

Nutritional adequacy
Nutritional adequacy means your child is getting enough of the essential nutrients they need to grow, develop, and feel well — even if their diet isn’t “perfect.” It’s not about variety for the sake of it, but about meeting their unique needs through balanced, realistic food choices.
Food Allergy and Intolerance
Managing a food allergy or intolerance can be stressful and confusing — especially when it affects your child’s daily life. I offer clear, practical guidance to help identify triggers, manage symptoms, and ensure your child’s diet remains safe, balanced, and nutritionally complete. From cow’s milk protein allergy (CMPA) to suspected intolerances, I’m here to support you with confidence and care.

Symptom Management
Having a baby or child who’s in pain or discomfort because of a food allergy or intolerance can be incredibly hard — especially when you’re not sure what’s causing it, or how to help.

I offer supportive, step-by-step guidance to help identify non-IgE allergies and food intolerances, manage symptoms, and ensure your child is getting everything they need nutritionally. Whether that means reviewing dietary exclusions, choosing the right formula, or navigating weaning with confidence.

Feeding and Weaning support
Introducing solids or managing dietary exclusions can feel especially overwhelming when you’re dealing with a suspected allergy or intolerance. I offer calm, step-by-step support to help you navigate weaning safely — from choosing the right first foods to managing exclusions with confidence.

Together, we’ll ensure your baby’s diet remains nutritionally adequate to support healthy growth and development, even when certain foods are off the table.

Safe Reintroduction
Reintroducing foods after a suspected non-IgE allergy or intolerance can feel daunting — especially when you're worried about symptoms returning. I offer gentle, step-by-step support to help you approach reintroduction with confidence, using evidence-based methods tailored to your child’s history and needs.

Together, we’ll make a clear plan, monitor progress, and ensure your child’s diet remains nutritionally balanced throughout the process.
